How do I go about building a desktop computer from scratch? What site should I go on to buy parts? Is it possible you can make a video on how you can build your own desktop computer.

  6. presh xd on April 16, 2021 at 1:44 am

Rather than wasting money on mac, you can buy a Windows laptop and install Linux on it 🤷‍♂️ it’s not mandatory to run Windows on a pc. Macbook pro’s are over 2300 dollars and tries to lock you into the apple ecosystem. Mac is not the best when it comes to performance, yeah the os nice and debloated but so is linux. If you’re on a budget the last thing you wanna buy is mac, if you’re not, then go crazy.
Just know you’ll get a better bang for your buck with a 1000-1500 dollar laptop with 8gb ram, an i7 and a 500gb ssd, which for the most part is easily upgradeable(ram and storage) and fixable, repairs are also significantly cheaper. If your macbook ever breaks you’re gonna be in for a world of pain.

I normally agree with you but this is really bad advice and makes u seem like just another apple fan boy.

You absolutely do not need to spend over 2000 dollars on a computer to get good quality, 1000-1500 dollars is good enough.

    Edit :
On the topic of playing games on macs, that actually made me laugh, the dedicated gpu on the highest end 2800 dollar macbook pro is a rx 5500m, thats about as powerful as a gtx 1660, FYI you can get a 1660ti laptop for around 1200-1600 dollars.

does asus vivobook s15 a good laptop? For a student of bachelor of IT?

  8. Ali3ngazer on April 16, 2021 at 1:45 am

I’m getting a MSI GL series mostly for the intel core I7, 1 TB, fast processor especially for online programs for my classes, and it’s completely versatile when it needs to be upgraded, and it last longer than most PCs. Yes it a gaming laptop, but I think it’s great to have in office too. Windows of course will be a problem and maybe soon I might get a Mac (best of both worlds right?) so I can learn more about it

  9. Explorer on April 16, 2021 at 1:45 am

A nice Chromebook by Google should do the trick here pal.

My boss had his MacBook Pro for work and movie editing for 9 years. Finally ended up buying a new one in 2017.

Hi buddy great channel & content, I’m going to be signing up to Cybrary, do you think a Dell Xps 13 would be a good laptop for the courses & cybersecurity in general, also I’m going to be getting a raspberry pi to learn Linux, can the raspberry pi be used for online training also – keep up the great work.

  12. j p on April 16, 2021 at 1:48 am

In my opinion, if you are getting into IT you need a laptop with the most ports available, a good amount of ram and cpu power to run VMs and the most important thing is to have great battery life. The main OS is just preference, everything breaks.

and as far as your windows bashing goes, just create 4 scheduled backup ups for one month on your external drive/nas and if something goes bananas, restore and be up and running in 15 minutes and never keep really important data on your internal hard drive.

I like macs but cant justify the price still. I couldn’t see myself owning one until I get to the point that i can throw money around. It’s just not for me right now and thats that.

But the main thing is that everyone respects the software or hardware that the other is using because there is a lot of people in the IT industry that thinks that their choice is better and the other admin is a noob.

If it suits the purpose and does the job without making you starve or cause you headaches it’s the best computer in the world.

  13. THEWILDONE4ALL on April 16, 2021 at 1:49 am

is the Dell XPS 13 good enough?

  14. Stephen Harris on April 16, 2021 at 1:49 am

I love watching all of your videos. But I have to disagree with this one. I’ve used OSX, Windows, and Linux. I found OSX to be the MOST Limited out of the 3. IMHO, "the best of the best" has been Linux in every way for the past 10+ years that I’ve been using it. But again, that’s from my own experience.

    Very honest suggestion

  19. KILLKING110 on April 16, 2021 at 1:50 am

Mac’s will break and apple will charge you 600$+ for a board replacement when it’s just a chip that quit working. Apple has it set up so it’s very hard to repair for third part repairs like having chips wipe themselves when you try to copy them to a unprogramed same version of the chip, stopping screen repairs aka swap outs because only the screen breaks not the whole unit, etc. Apple is so anti consumer but sheep still buy there products if Congress wasn’t so corrupt apple would be screwed by major anti trust investigations so beware mac’s just get a dwell or hp and have cheaper repairs from companies that aren’t so anti consumer.

  26. Saaim Huda on April 16, 2021 at 2:00 am

I understand what he’s saying is totally right. But please do consider your budget. As a junior at a public university, I will advise you not to use your loan money to buy that prestige Mac for $1500. You will run into problems for your programming classes. Mac has Xcode but the class is based on Microsoft Visual Studio. Yes sure you can install virtual box but you can instead get a damn good pc for $1000 max.

  27. Habib A on April 16, 2021 at 2:01 am

I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro, it’s absolutely amazing. I am running multiple virtual Machines on it. I absolutely love it! Upgraded the RAM and installed a SSD, these things are super fast and reliable.

  32. Roben Harrison on April 16, 2021 at 2:10 am

If you build your own pc u can fully customize it to ur needs. U can get way more power building ur own and there’s always room to upgrade.

  38. natty asrat on April 16, 2021 at 2:15 am

next year, I am applying to IT for a two-year diploma and I have been using this man’s information all the time. I am currently using Microsoft laptop 2. it works very well until now. however, the truth about the windows is obvious. even my friend who is currently studying programming advice me to buy mac

  39. Donnie Darko on April 16, 2021 at 2:20 am

I start my IT education in 4 days. Classes start in FOUR DAYS. I’m 41 years old and I haven’t touched a PC in almost 18 years!!! Been on a MAC as long as I can remember. Excited to work in Windows, but I’m hesitant. I have zero experience on a PC and I’m very skeptical; but I realize that most people and work will be done on a PC. Here’s to the future!

  40. Chris Costello on April 16, 2021 at 2:27 am

Hi Zack, Can my MacBook Pro catch viruses and spyware from using Windows Operating systems?

  41. Theresa Kidd on April 16, 2021 at 2:27 am

Used to be huge Windows person but now my laptop won’t connect to my home Wi-Fi. Connect to library Wi-Fi just fine. Don’t know what is actually wrong with it because home Wi-Fi works just fine with everything else in the house. Already tried the forget the network trick, too.

  42. Keith C on April 16, 2021 at 2:27 am

I actually enjoyed this video. Can you go into some detail about why Windows is better than MAC for a corporate/business environment?

  43. ALateTuber on April 16, 2021 at 2:30 am

I don’t think "Because it’s running Windows" is a valid argument. You can install any OS on your machine. Ubuntu works great with gaming and this a cheaper option. However Mac is good if you can afford it.

  44. sleeping ficus on April 16, 2021 at 2:30 am

  45. Stephan C on April 16, 2021 at 2:30 am

I was one of the People who hate Mac and I am in It, I taught they were difficult to use and troubleshoot + plus buying every single piece of software. But I decide to face my limitation I bought a Mac and I don’t wanna use windows anymore. It is so easy to move around Mac setting but window everything is hiding on a submenu ….any computer could get affected by virus but (windows=virus) just that simple

  46. kostas kefallinos on April 16, 2021 at 2:30 am

All you need is terminal and is essential to learn it good because when everything crashes vi editor can save the day.

  47. John McNicholas on April 16, 2021 at 2:32 am

I’m with Zack. Anytime someone asks, "What kind of computer should I buy?" I always answer with the question, "What are you going to be using it for?" I follow with you get what you pay for.

  48. C Addison on April 16, 2021 at 2:33 am

I love Mac. I use it in school got my degree.

I don’t agree with you. My Windows 98 works like a charm, although windows XP looks really good.
