I’m glad Samsung did not make the list. Ice maker keeps freezing up and takes F O R E V E R to get ice out of the door. I have to unplug it every 2 months for 12 hours to thaw out the ice maker. It freezes where there is no access without disassembly and makes loud noises when frozen up.

First let me say that we buy all our appliances from Appliance Factory & Mattress Kingdom. They carry everything, their prices are marginally lower, and you can pick up if you prefer to save delivery and installation costs.

But, Mr. Montoya is making extremely poor recommendations in this video. Do not buy an LG refrigerator under any circumstances! If you are like me you have an expectation that a refrigerator will last a decade and be relatively trouble free. LG refrigerators cannot do that because unlike other refrigerators they employ a "linear" compressor. LG claims that is good because of spaceships. But it turns out they use a cheap internal part that can’t handle the pressure which causes it to break eliminating refrigeration.

My brother has an LG refrigerator and the compressor broke after a year and a half. You might say that was just one instance out of many that didn’t fail. Well, when he tried to get it fixed it was near impossible. LG doesn’t have repairmen, they subcontract it out and give a list of repair people to contact. When my brother called they all said they wouldn’t do it, the LGs are basket cases, and it is very hard to get the parts. He had to call LG back and they coerced a repairman into doing it. My brother was without refrigeration for a month and will surely throw the refrigerator out the next time it breaks. LG refrigerators may have a lot of nice features but they also have a fatal flaw so they do not last. LGs will be far most costly than all other alternatives because of replacement costs.

Looking for the fridge that Pelosi just bought👌

  11. Orquidea Del Norte on February 1, 2021 at 6:32 pm

GE is the worst name brand now a days, use to be excellent, not anymore… my microwave broke down 1 year later, and my fridge 2 years later, just 2 days ago, so now I’m looking for a new one, and you mention GE ughh NO!!

  12. Gary Jensen on February 1, 2021 at 6:32 pm

Does the LG make solid ice? Or is it filled with air like the Samsung?

  13. Katiedid on February 1, 2021 at 6:32 pm

would not even consider LG because of poor customer service and both my daughters have had numerous problems with theirs. Was disappointed he did not review the kitchenaide.

  14. Elizabeth Villalobos on February 1, 2021 at 6:33 pm

Please do review on washing machines

  15. azsako on February 1, 2021 at 6:34 pm

I would avoid Samsung and LG models or models like Kennmore that have an LG compressor cause they will fail on you. Samsung and LG should stick to TV’s and cell phones

  16. Mark Miles on February 1, 2021 at 6:36 pm

I guess this is a video for people who don’t care about pricing.

  18. Bible Girl on February 1, 2021 at 6:37 pm

I’ve had my LG for ten years It’s still modern and looks like the fridge in The video. I want a smart Hub fridge, are they any good?

  19. Saboth on February 1, 2021 at 6:39 pm

Holy cow, $2500 for a "mid level". Fridges cost as much as motorcycles these days. I’ve been reading that Samsung and LG are absolute crap for reliability, and pretty much almost no reliable fridges are made anymore, by any company.

  20. wayne seto on February 1, 2021 at 6:42 pm

If there is more features in a refrigerator. More things will break down faster and not last long. Water filter dispenser on the front and ice dispenser too is a waste. More things to break down. This video is not about the top 5 reliability of the refrigerators. More likely the top 5 useless frills features and the prettiest things that break down. We have a refrigerator with a top freezer that lasts 15 or maybe 20 years and it’s still working! Only had to add or fix one time in all those years. Most of the modern refrigerators for 2020 will definitely not last! Our refrigerator compressor is still going strong too. Sad for the modern refrigerators.

  21. Michel Berube on February 1, 2021 at 6:42 pm

Great info regarding features but what I really need to know now more than ever is how reliable these are and how easily repairable they are. Thx

  22. Roberta Lopez on February 1, 2021 at 6:43 pm

Funny…I say, never buy an LG. I made the unfortunate mistake of choosing all LG appliances for my kitchen remodel in 2012. The year before, I purchased the LG brand washer and dryer; since I hadn’t had a problem yet with either the first year I thought it was a good brand. In the last 8 years, I have had repairmen for all except the gas stove. The things that were consistent with all the needed repairs was, FIRST, it was hard to find anyone who would work on them. I live in the metropolitan are of Salt Lake City, UT, so not a small town. Finally I called the LG national customer service number. They gave me two numbers for repair help. I called the first, and he said he doesn’t work on LGs anymore. The next man came but had an incredibly hard time repairing my wall ovens. SECOND, parts are never available! You have to wait 3-6 weeks. Now my refrigerator isn’t cold and the first guy said appointments are out to mid DEC! The second guy won’t call me back.

Do you have reviews on 30 inch refrigerator?

  24. ZzTop's Beard Lice on February 1, 2021 at 6:46 pm

Random recommend from Youtube. Since Im here, havent watched the video yet, but if youre shopping, do not buy a freezer drawer fridge. I know nobody that likes those stupid things.

  25. The Infamous Legend on February 1, 2021 at 6:47 pm

    Avoid LG!!!

  26. Gary Jensen on February 1, 2021 at 6:48 pm

    Samsung makes poor ice!

    Price

  28. Freedom Rider on February 1, 2021 at 6:49 pm

Please add the word "affordable" or the phrase "best under X dollars." I’m positive Sub Zero, Viking and others are most certainly superior to these and they are available for purchase every year.

  29. Bk. Anand on February 1, 2021 at 6:50 pm

    Are they in Australia?

  30. Jim Bruni on February 1, 2021 at 6:50 pm

  31. shirley lee on February 1, 2021 at 6:51 pm

dont buy lg, Samsung, Kenmore all junk 2yrs max

  32. Brian Binnie on February 1, 2021 at 6:57 pm

LG makes trash tv’s. I certainly wouldn’t buy an LG fridge. Whirlpool or kitchen aid.

  33. Rammdom on February 1, 2021 at 6:57 pm

I am a loyal Samsung Galaxy phone girl….BUTTTT, SAmsung refrigerator has been a nightmare since the first year we bought it. The ice maker issue everyone seems to have. If you buy a Samsung be sure to buy that extended warranty, pretty sure you’ll need it. Only 5 years in with continuous house calls and looking to buy a new one. We shouldn’t have to replace refrigerators every 2, 3, or even 5 years. When we threw out our old school white rusty refrigerator it still worked amazing just looked busted after 15 years! 😆

  34. Mohammad Paracha on February 1, 2021 at 6:58 pm

What about the GE appliances?. Are they reliable. I had Amana for 5 + years. No issue so far.

  35. LovesthedramaMama on February 1, 2021 at 6:59 pm

Trust me when they say DO NOT buy a Samsung. EVER.

  36. James Doolittle on February 1, 2021 at 6:59 pm

Get a Sub Zero, nothing comes close.

    Year 2020

  38. Mark Saldibar on February 1, 2021 at 7:02 pm

How can this guy say LG is a reliable fridge? I bought an LG fridge 2 years ago and now it stopped working. LG has sent repair guys to fix our fridge several times and they have not been able fix it. We have put a request for a refund and have been waiting 4 months without a fridge so far. I did a some research about LG fridges and found out I was not the only one having problems and there is a class action law suit. I’ve waited hours talking to customer service I can say for sure i will never buy LG again.

  39. Rosalinda Marini on February 1, 2021 at 7:03 pm

    LG…the worst

  40. Elizabeth Villalobos on February 1, 2021 at 7:04 pm

Lg has several class action lawsuits

  41. Pat Huber on February 1, 2021 at 7:04 pm

I bought a Maytag fridge about 7 years ago. I paid a lot of $$$$on this model. I bought it as I loved the ice maker. Well of course the ice maker went up! Now it is leaking and the sounds are constantly knocking 24 hrs a day.. need a new fridge right away. I think no one from Maytag gives a hoot! Just one more issue to deal with.. thanks for this informative info! 😡😡🥵🤢

  42. wayne seto on February 1, 2021 at 7:05 pm

Should be the top 5 reliability refrigerators with less features.

  43. Diane K on February 1, 2021 at 7:06 pm

It’s really aggravating & disgusting how they are making these new fridges. 🤬 Samsung sucks! The ice maker replaced, just about a year old. The evaporator, replaced, leaking under tray, an ongoing problem…cant fix. Ice maker broke, after 3 years. 😡

    GE Crap Sorry

  48. Canofaces on February 1, 2021 at 7:14 pm

If you buy the LG with the craft ice the first time it does take probably 30 hours for it to freeze good but after that your tray will fill up fast just leave it alone and don’t use it for like a week and the next thing you know it’ll be full. I love mine

  49. Lois Jones on February 1, 2021 at 7:15 pm

Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I would caution everyone about buying the LG fridge tho. The same week my 6yo LG broke down, LG announced a class action lawsuit settlement on their compressors. That was the problem with my fridge too, but it was a couple weeks of Customer Service Hell and $135 to find out that it also needed a new control board that is no longer manufactured. LG could not tell me how many MONTHS this would take to get it. Your video just confirmed for me (along with other articles) that the Whirlpool is the best buy.

We have the kenmore refrigerator before things become too fancy in 2020. Not in business now.
