I am very disappointed that you didn’t include dive computers made by Ratio Computers that are among the best in the world in terms of features, quality and versatility. Ratio computers are more deserving of mention and review than most of the ones that you mentioned.

  2. Zach Shannon on February 27, 2021 at 9:43 pm

I went with a mares quad air pro for my computer. Haven’t been able to get it wet, but it seems to be a simple computer to operate. I almost went with the descent mk1, but decided to go with something with air integration instead

  3. Crich775 on February 27, 2021 at 9:43 pm

Take a look at the veo 4.0,also a pelagic and almost identical to the i300c, but with an extra gas and two algorithm options, at face value they look identical til you dig.

  4. Kenneth Wayne Nolen on February 27, 2021 at 9:44 pm

While the Shearwater Perdix is great, there are feature to the Teric that may drive me to it rather then the Perdix, including the contactless charging, sealed battery, Sapphire Glass, and of course the color options — my only complaint would be the screen size. Would love to see a true trade off of the two.

  5. VanCityCanuck on February 27, 2021 at 9:45 pm

Shewrwater Teric! Thst being said, love Scuba pro’s innovation. I want a heart rate monitor to sync to my health apps and provide caloric details while learning more about how hot/cold etc I am.

  6. Rory Trudeau on February 27, 2021 at 9:49 pm

im having a hard time deciding between the EON core or the shearwater Perdix AI… I want a dive computer that’ll grow with me which they both can but will also be used in more advance diving (cave, technical, ect I think you get it) im not sure which to go with. if anyone has any opinions thoughts or plan can just help with pros cons anything please feel free to help!

  7. Stevan Gajic on February 27, 2021 at 9:49 pm

Got Suunto Eon Core and could not be more happy! I realised majority of scubadivers are kinda like kids and go for stuff that just has more bels and whistles while they dont need or use 90% of it (looking at you Perdix) . I find that Eon Core is best middle of the road one.

  8. Blair Sasada on February 27, 2021 at 9:49 pm

Thank you Mark, these are a great format of videos, I only wish I found them sooner, I was missing my fix of Simply Scuba ones! Please can we have the computers not to get?

  9. Mohammad Shawqy on February 27, 2021 at 9:51 pm

    Shearwater Perdix AI

  10. Kenneth Wayne Nolen on February 27, 2021 at 9:53 pm

What do you think of the Atomic Cobalt?

  11. samuel chow on February 27, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Diving with Garmin MK1. Very few people actually have even seen the model in South East Asia.
They have just launch a software update v10.10 on july2020, but never got to test it out as mine is a SEA version. SEA still running on v8.00 as of comment time.
if you ever plan to get it, please to read the forum, they still have minor bugs and fixes that needs to be done.
One that bugs me was that i cannot add additional surface interval(right after accending from one) to directly calculate my next dive NDL. Garmin mention that it is fixed in v10.10. #fingerscrossed
it is a sure recommendation if you are looking for a all rounder tracking + diver ,as the GPS also allows for recording lots and lots of outdoor activities, I do a lot of jogs on normal days, it is a breeze to track that jog. Battery life is around a week with all features turn on (no notifications-i hate my wrist vibrating every now and then), and i do around 1hr activities throughout that week.

  12. suzie taite on February 27, 2021 at 9:57 pm

    Teric. Love it.

  13. NightwingOO7 on February 27, 2021 at 9:57 pm

I’m glad that you’re back and doing videos. I’m in the middle of my training and your vids educate and inspire me. Thanks

  14. Allan Ferreira on February 27, 2021 at 9:58 pm

I looking to buy my first computer. I between aqualung i300c and oceanic geo 4… do you have any knowledge to share about it:? !

  15. Jonney Reay on February 27, 2021 at 9:59 pm

Wow, so glad I found your channel I have really missed your videos on simply scuba. Instant subcride! Thanks

  16. Oscar Lopez on February 27, 2021 at 9:59 pm

i know you recorded this viideo than the realease date of the Shearwater peregrine, but what do you think about it ? who would you recomend that to. ?

  17. Brian Rossman on February 27, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Well this helped me make up my mind exactly none… I am thinking about upgrading my Suunto D4. I’m a bit of a technology geek so was going to go to air integrated for sure and all the extra data the G2 has look impressive. I had narrowed my list to the Perdix AI, EON Core, or the G2…. All 3 are in the same general price range. Just having such a small manual the Perdix looks to be the easiest; the G2 has the most data you can see; and the EON is sticking with the brand I started with… Being in Michigan I’m going to be looking at diving wrecks in the area (not penetration dives just yet) and that puts me on the deeper end of rec dives and do dive with a pony bottle part of the time and will probably put a transmitter on it as well. Also I’m in Michigan so there will be gloves, but I don’t see a major difference is easy of button use. I’m hoping other commenters might have some input other than the nearly religious answers on SB…

  18. Alwyn Dmello on February 27, 2021 at 10:02 pm

I have had two disasters with the Suunto Zoop (it dives itself on land). A review on a trusted DC for recreation divers would really help.

  19. William Buck on February 27, 2021 at 10:02 pm

Not a fan of Suunto cause I had 2 Cobras fail and Too Time Restrictive!

  20. Benedictus Maria Hendarso on February 27, 2021 at 10:03 pm

Was torn between teric and descent, any suggestion?

  21. Mr M on February 27, 2021 at 10:03 pm

    Thoughts on suunto d5?

  22. Chris Fernandez on February 27, 2021 at 10:04 pm

Trying to decide between the Garmin MK2 should it feature all the bells and whistles of the MK1 with the much desired component of air integration. (No idea why Garmin would release a computer in that price point without air integration) and a Sunnto eon core. What I like about the Garmin (huge assumption it is similar to mk1 +AI): surface and exit gps recording, the quality, and ease of use. What I like about the suunto: all the needed information is on screen at once, ease of use, and appearance. Both are computers that will grow with me as I progress from Advanced Open Water to Divemaster/instructor goals. Any insights into which computer one should get?

  23. Cody Sheridan on February 27, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Keen for that video on under-appreciated dive gear.

  24. BoatingDave 1 on February 27, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Hey welcome back! Glad I found you again. Personally I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Teric. Great DC and nice form factor. While I love the air integration I still use an old fashioned SPG as a backup to ensure I know how much gas I have left!

  25. Skinniesuk on February 27, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Would love you to do a review of the Ratio ix3m tech pro, especially screen size as my sight struggles with small screens and nothing out there on screen size

  26. Lenny Germany on February 27, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Hiya Mark , took YT Algorythm months to hint about where you´re hiding at , just a quick personal experience on the G2 after about 150ish dives , quite a few Software issues , Connection to PC and Mobile App , plus more and more often , stays in dive mode for hours after surfacing , been sent off for a factory reset , hope they get it sussed , cos i couldn´t find an AI with HM etc, which was the main reason for going for it last year … anyway , have subscribed as well

  27. Sapper TV on February 27, 2021 at 10:09 pm

    NERD 2 OC

  28. Roberto Lopez on February 27, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Hello from Florida. Glad to see you again. I can not believe that I found your own channel. Great content as always. I’m finally doing my open water certification (postponed from March) and you can not imagine how much have you helped me from gear recommendations to general advise. I don feel completely clueless when I go to de dive shop.

  29. Andy Noble on February 27, 2021 at 10:12 pm

Hey Mark, really like the channel and am getting psyched up for getting back to diving when the situation allows. I’m a recreational diver and suspect I’m unlikely to go down the tech route (although never say never…)
I had been considering the suunto D5 but watching this and the simplyscuba video of the core I’m not so sure – is there much between them other than screen size and general bulk on wrist? Does that significantly affect the use on the dive? I’d thought perhaps a watch sized computer would be good for diving holidays to have on more permanently but ultimately if it’s not as good when underwater doing it’s primary job then that’s not ideal or is it mainly a personal preference thing?

Also would love to see the worst computers video!

  30. macspam168 on February 27, 2021 at 10:13 pm

Great video Mark. I’m very happy with my Suunto Eon Core. Really enjoying the Safe Diving channel. Could you maybe do a video on the best prescription masks? Thanks.

  31. POKEY on February 27, 2021 at 10:17 pm

    Slow down 🙄

  32. Richard Slater on February 27, 2021 at 10:20 pm

I’ve got a eon core. Can’t fault it but I do wonder whether using something like shearwater that hasn’t got a proprietary algorithms is safer. When do you think they’ve be updating the perdix?

  33. Harrison on February 27, 2021 at 10:21 pm

Oh yes, please tell us your dislikes (and therefor what to avoid in a computer!)

  34. Lawrence Cole on February 27, 2021 at 10:25 pm

  35. Yousif Al Ammadi on February 27, 2021 at 10:26 pm

I’m so confused over here.. I like the Garmin Descent .. But I would love to know if they are going to build us a second gen Dive Computer.. I don’t want to buy MK1 and after a month they release a new one

  36. Jon Evison on February 27, 2021 at 10:26 pm

Woo hoo! I finally have some gear on a top 5 list! The i300c is great for a newbie diver like myself. Simple but very intuitive to use. Would love if you could do a video about your favorite specialty courses… which ones really help to improve your diving?

  37. Marly Sharky on February 27, 2021 at 10:26 pm

I like the OSTC computers from heinrich’s weikamp.

  38. Finthefish 1701 on February 27, 2021 at 10:27 pm

    Mares nemo wide.

  39. Ray Amis on February 27, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Good to see you again Mark. How’s life (Corona) been treating you.

  40. Osvaldo Richards on February 27, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Hi Mark, congratulations for your channel, I’ve missed your videos since Simple Scuba’s ones, so I am very happy to find you again. I am lucky enough to dive with a Perdix and I love it, but really do not want to spend as much again for my wife, who wants an upgrade for her Cressi. Do you know any more affordable alternatives that displays SAC rate while diving?, I think it is one of the most useful features of an air integrated computer. Thanks!

  41. Kurt Steiner on February 27, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    Mark
    What happened to simply scuba.
I use a suunto vyper air, with integration senser. It’s not too small. But do back it up, with a pressure gauge, compas and dive tables.
I find it good for what I do. Also have a dive watch for emergencies.
Was taught in RN to dive in 1980s. So am used to backing up things and not just relying on one device.
It’s quite easy to use when you get the hang of it.
    Hope it helps.

  42. Stephen Clyde on February 27, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Do you have any thoughts on the Scubapro Aladin A2? I’m brand new to diving and looking to buy my first dive computer. It seems like a good balance of being not quite as expensive but still having some good features like air integration. I also like how it has sport mode so it used for other things like swimming.

  43. RimjobHimself on February 27, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Oceanic oci with a transmitter. Your thoughts.?

Yes, was wondering what happened to Simply Scuba, now that I found your channel my worries are gone, subbed!

    wheres the suunto novo zoop?????

  48. John David on February 27, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Hi from canada . Glad i found your channel.. i use the aqua lung i770r computer and i realy like it and its size . Easy to read and set ..

  49. FALCON 2000 on February 27, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Hi Mark. Good information on this channel. One thing that I don’t understand of the i300c is the multi gas feature. If the manual indicates that the computer is for recreational dives only, why having three different gas to switch to during the dive? I would imagine that this feature helps but on deco dives,
    Keep up the good work

  50. Leefish92 on February 27, 2021 at 10:40 pm

I wear glasses and trying to see my old Aqualung i200 was hard in the dark and dingy Stoney cove. So I upgraded to the Eon core and I love it. So clear and simple to use
