We have an LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.
I like LG but the 1# looks like a monolith lol

Thanks for the video. I have this question. Will any French door refrig fit in an opening that is width 39 in, height 68 in, depth 32 1/2 in.. I can remove the cabinet above the current opening to take care of a 70 inch. But what about when the door is open at 90°? Will it fit within the 39" opening?

Truth: Circuit boards and cold wet air don’t go together. More doors=more hot air invasion. Fancier the crappier. Even sub zero sucks. Buy a cheap conventional model: no bells, no whistles, no ice in the door or water, no Bluetooth, no app.If it breaks, buy another. We’re not technologically at the good refrigerator place. It’s all a scam for parts, service and a 4K pos.
Something to think about: When purchasing one of those huge side by side refrigerators, remember that most doors in US homes are only 6′ 8" tall. Some of the fridges are the same height. Also, when having the appliance delivered, make absolutely sure the delivery is set up for inside delivery and installation. These huge hulking refrigerators deliver mounted on 6" high pallets and weigh half a ton. That means one man cannot possibly get it off the pallet and into your house. Also remember that if the delivery people decide to turn the fridge on its side so it will go through the door, the dimensions over the corners will exceed 8′ for the double wide units, and your ceilings are probably only 8′ tall. That means a crew of about 10 guys will have top tilt the fridge back up to vertical once it is inside, and if you have hardwood floors, make sure the delivery/install crew is insured against damaging either or both the floor and ceiling. Been there. Done that.

As an appliance repair man, I would not recommend buying an LG. LG refrigerators are prone to compressor failure at the 2-3 year mark. Although LG has a great warranty on their sealed system, do you want to loose all of your food and have a long wait for warranty repair.
I have repaired all of the brands listed in this video with the exception of Panasonic. I am not sure if the is because there are not a lot of Panasonic refrigerators in my service area or because Panasonic makes a good product.
