you forgot the "swords of ditto: Momo’s curse" as it was released in every platform. I think it is way more closer to legend of zelda

  2. Justin De Villa on February 10, 2021 at 5:22 pm

what is the name of the game early?

  3. smokeldogg on February 10, 2021 at 5:26 pm

Alundra and 3D Dot Game Heroes are must plays.

  4. Derealized on February 10, 2021 at 5:27 pm

Hyper Light Drifter, is the loudest game I ever played. Best not played wearing headphones.

  5. Diego on February 10, 2021 at 5:27 pm

    Check out Shotgun Legend.

  6. Sa Bir on February 10, 2021 at 5:28 pm

If i can make a suggestion, i think it could be a good idea to list GOG among the avaiable platforms as well. Several games listed in this video are avaiable there as well and, while i understand that Steam is the major platform for PC, some of us will buy them on GOG if we have the choice, because of their DRM-Free policy.

My love for hollow knight, bring me here. Thanks for the info

  8. lnsflare1 on February 10, 2021 at 5:30 pm

I’m not sure if they count as indie titles, but Adventure Time: Secret of the Nameless Kingdom is basically a more inscrutable Link to the Past in an Adventure Time skin and Severed is essentially a first person Zelda game with combat that is but touchscreen-centric and pseudo-turn-based, so you end up feeling like a blender caught in a tornado.

  9. Wish Wizard on February 10, 2021 at 5:32 pm

    I’m your 1k liker

  10. Leinard Esteves on February 10, 2021 at 5:32 pm

    You forgot moonlighter

  11. Shane Stentiford on February 10, 2021 at 5:36 pm

How are none of these free to play.

  12. Getúlio Felix Gomes da Silva on February 10, 2021 at 5:36 pm

Breath of The Wild like, please!!!!

  13. Erin on February 10, 2021 at 5:37 pm

What’s the game on the title screen?

  14. LateMoonGrass on February 10, 2021 at 5:38 pm

Thanks a lot for the eggsellent video. The original GameBoy Link’s Awakening is one of my most beloved games and some of your recommendations seem to share that special spirit of the good old days of yore.

  15. killerbife on February 10, 2021 at 5:40 pm

Guardian Tales should probably be on this list, but unfortunately, the global launch was after this video. BTW you should give it a go.

  16. Afsha Saifi on February 10, 2021 at 5:40 pm

    0:14 pls say game name

  17. Baalf Games on February 10, 2021 at 5:40 pm

Not even going to comment on how I feel about my usual problems with modern media. Just going to say that some of the bosses in those games look awesome.

  18. jooched on February 10, 2021 at 5:41 pm

Hyper light drifter sucks. You can never relax as soon as enemies appear on the screen. The difficulty ramps up waaay too fast. And that’s where Nintendo’s Zelda series can’t be beat, perfectly balanced. Hyper light drifter is like Zelda and Doom 2016 combined.

  19. hughburgin on February 10, 2021 at 5:44 pm

You did a great job making this. The very first game (Oceanhorn) was the exact game I was trying to figure out when I searched for indie games like Zelda.

  20. Gameplay Br on February 10, 2021 at 5:44 pm

    Earthbound + Zelda = Reverie 🙂

  21. MOX TY on February 10, 2021 at 5:45 pm

    Alundra It’s Best Clone ever

  22. Waffletigercat on February 10, 2021 at 5:45 pm

Tunic can’t come out soon enough.

  23. Game-Freak67 on February 10, 2021 at 5:47 pm

While not an indie game, Okami is very Zelda-like and worth playing.

However this video has way too many ads for its length.

  24. Borg Prime on February 10, 2021 at 5:48 pm

Good list, the only one I played on it is blossom tales and loved it. I will probably play all these starting with stories of bethem.

  25. Uncle Rusty on February 10, 2021 at 5:48 pm

Finally a video that ACTUALLY HAS GAMES SIMILAR TO ZELDA!!! I’m so sick of all these videos of so-called "Zelda-like" games that includes stuff like Stardew Valley, Super Mario Odyssey, and Assassin’s Creed. These games have nothing in similar to Zelda but some people continue to make lists of obviously popular games which clearly takes no effort. This person has thankfully compiled an actual list of true Zelda-like games, bravo!

  26. Chilly64 on February 10, 2021 at 5:51 pm

Blossom Tales is a great clone.

  27. Jesusmay David on February 10, 2021 at 5:52 pm

So how did Crosscode not make this list?

  28. Nick Red on February 10, 2021 at 5:52 pm

Blossom Tales was amazing, in my opinion!

  29. loosetooth mcgoofe on February 10, 2021 at 5:56 pm

Secret of manna, best game ever

  30. Doug Foster on February 10, 2021 at 5:58 pm

Hyper light drifter is an amazing game but short

  31. Ghoulish Graveyard on February 10, 2021 at 6:00 pm

That last one look exactly like link awaking dx

  32. Mr X on February 10, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Maybe also consider platform adventures a’la Zelda 2 style? Aggelos seems to be a good one, in that regard.

  33. rexxxx1984 on February 10, 2021 at 6:02 pm

I would also add CrossCode to the list 😉

  34. The Sinister Design Channel on February 10, 2021 at 6:02 pm

Good list! Have you looked into Sparklite, CrossCode, or Blossom Tales? 🙂

  35. The Legends Of Tynedale on February 10, 2021 at 6:03 pm

Great video! Hope I can make this list with my entry in the future!

  36. Wil Rivera on February 10, 2021 at 6:04 pm

… have you played Kob on the ps4? I have not but it does remind me of zelda …

  37. Pavlo Tverdokhlib on February 10, 2021 at 6:05 pm

The most influential Zelda clone for me, as a PC-only gamer was always Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

I am always looking for games that will evoke the same feelings of both discover and dread that came with that game. Gothic 2D games seem to be coming back in vogue, and there’s a whole bunch of titles I’m looking forward to in the near future, but I do wish it didn’t take 20+ years for them to come back in style.

If you know of any similar games out right now, I’d love to hear about them!

  38. Freestyle ! on February 10, 2021 at 6:06 pm

Hey I just subscribed and I gotta say I’m reeeally liking your channel!

  39. Stewart M on February 10, 2021 at 6:07 pm

songbringer has the worst soundtrack of any game I’ve ever experienced. I had to stop playing after an hour.

  40. Marcos Danilo on February 10, 2021 at 6:09 pm

3:02 "you dont get upgrades" than its not not like zelda at all! lol. it is closer to a rogue like/bullet hell adventure game instead.

  41. Dang Luong on February 10, 2021 at 6:09 pm

    No Crosscode?

  42. Joshua Villasante on February 10, 2021 at 6:09 pm

Tunic seems fun… Why is it not available for ps4? 😱

  43. Boycott Activision on February 10, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Title should be "Best Games like Hydlide."

  44. SkemeKOS on February 10, 2021 at 6:13 pm

    Tunic looks amazing

  45. Geno746 on February 10, 2021 at 6:16 pm

I recently finished Anodyne 2 and its incredible.

  46. CYBERDEAD on February 10, 2021 at 6:18 pm

I loved the video, thank you to the hard work to do. 20 minutes of beautiful information and of course, helping peoplr that are needing new good vibes games and the developers that the most maybe are indie. Im so happy thank you 🙂

  47. Simoss13 on February 10, 2021 at 6:18 pm

When I search for indie games, I ALWAYS place Zelda clones as my first choice. If I had a years wirth of indie games to only play, I feel these 20 would do me well.
I have played a few and you have caught my eye on Dawnthorn, Stories of Bethem and Reverie. I appreciate that!
However would Sparklite be a missing gem that can fit on this list? I haven’t played it but interested

  48. GurnakeDaSnakeMon on February 10, 2021 at 6:19 pm

    Nice video thank you

  49. Rafael Bezerra on February 10, 2021 at 6:19 pm

No love for Swords of Ditto? I’m devastated! 😭😭

  50. skelz81 on February 10, 2021 at 6:20 pm

My favorite genre is the top down zelda games or clones. I see you missed HOB. That was an awesome game and the puzzles and world was nice. If not yet played give it a chance
