All these examples are for big load amps…. I have 1 12inch sub on a 800 watt amp… I sanded down a part of my car to put my ground, is this good?

  4. Owl Chungus on September 30, 2021 at 7:52 am

i have a amp that pushes more rms power than the rms of the sub i want to get, would i just set the gains by ear normally, or is there something else i need to do because i am overpowering the sub? lmk if this makes sense

Okay so im brand new to car audio and i have a few questions. 1 i have 2 12 in rockville hooked up to a 1200w peak amp coming in. And i was curious if I would need an ungraded alternator. And 2 where the best place to wire the remote turn on wire? Thanks!

  10. Whispering Smith on September 30, 2021 at 7:55 am

Great explanation. I’m adding a upgrade to a 04 Chevy Tahoe. 2 Earthquake 12" subs. Running a 6000 watt Rockville.
I have 4- 12" pioneers subs SVC 2 ohms with 2- 800 watt kickers running each set of 2 subs. It hits hard with the 4. Sounds clean. Looking to hit a little harder.
I’ve installed upgraded electrical and alternator. Very clean install with what I have. Not sure if I’ll need the second battery with adding the Rockville. I’ll be running 7200 watts to bass subs an additional 1000 watt pioneer to the mids. Total is 8200 watts. I’ve been Researching for a few months on the electrical details and Ohms, taking notes before installing the earthquakes. ( Conflicting opinions from what I’ve read ) seems I may need to add an additional battery and components. Your other videos helped as well 👍much appreciated. Cheers from Florida 🤙

I’m running 1800rms on my skar svr which is rated 800rms 1600max and it takes it. I normally run burst stuff but I have cooked the coil a few times running 40-45 htz tones on burst but it still rattles my shit even in a sealed box.

What person in their right mind would put a 10 kW amplifier in their CAR?? Even 5 kW is way too much. Or are they deaf? I might do 2 kW but 1 kW is probably more than enough. My home stereo isn’t anywhere near 1 kW and I hear it just fine. Save your money by putting in a reasonable audio system.

  17. shane curtis on September 30, 2021 at 8:06 am

I always overkill when it comes to my systems…..and the bolt that goes thru ur seat belt latch goes straight into the frame so it is a good ground but u need to do a little bit of wire brushing….but it is only good for 5000 or less watts any more then I would pry just go under the car and go straight to the frame

  18. David Perry on September 30, 2021 at 8:06 am

I only running 500 watts for my sub and I am running stock electrical. Before I get a 1500 watt sub amp, I do a big 3 upgrade with 0 gauge OFC. Even though I’m going for an SQ system with a single twelve, I might upgrade my alternator down the road for an extra peace of mind.

  19. HeavyChevy on September 30, 2021 at 8:06 am

ok… so my thousand watt rms mono amp should not be bolted to my power antenna ground? (askin cause i havent put it in yet, but thats what i was planning to do, but now, not so much?) …& what type of "rust preventative treatment" would u recommend for the bare metal in question? (btw adding a sub to a 98 firebird so open to suggestions for a ground?) always enjoy ur videos man, been learning alot, so thanx & god bless dude

I have A Question Nd Noone Can Seem Too answer It. Can You use A Motorcycle Battery or Any other Type Of Battery To Run Your Amp? I Dont Have The Money for the Expensive batterys

  21. budh420 on September 30, 2021 at 8:08 am

Save yourself time and money. I run a power and ground directly off the alternator to my back lithium battery and kept all my stock electrical. The least resistance is the best. 0 voltage drop at idle. running 2 Sundown 18 Xv2 with a Sundown SCV 3000 Mechman 250 amp alt

  22. Christian St-jean on September 30, 2021 at 8:08 am

Hi bud how are you doing? I’ve purchased a 10 inches Clarion DVC 4 ohms + 4 ohms(1000w peak and 300 RMS) Shallow mount subwoofer to hook up with my factory amp for my 09 explorer limited .The actual factory subwoofer is a 8 inches DVC 1 ohm +1 ohm (60w +60w) the wiring connections I did was like a parallel to have 2 ohms from my Clarion sub and I’ve bridged the wires to the factory amp output wires respectively like so :negative from the sub to the positive of channel 1 and the positive from the sub to the negative of channel 2(did a ohms test with my multimeter)got 2 ohms going out the factory connector to plug in the amp output. Is it the way to do it or I should hook up the positive with the positive and negative with the negative from the factory connector to the 2 wires coming from the sub?(1 positive and 1 negative)sorry I did the the positive to the positive and negative to the negative

I’m into bass guitars well I made mistakes in the past with my solid state preamps right now I got a new amp I’m not cranking the gain or I’m going to blow a fan like I did with my old amp. It’s the same with car audio that why I’m so careful installing aftermarket speakers and preamps.
