the problem im having is getting a better 65" or a little less quality 75" for the same price or cheaper. is exchanging quality for size a smart move? i sit about 10 feet away and currently have an old 50" and I’m definitely in the market. but i dont know if ill regret a 65" or not when a 75" is affordable. i would love some opinion’s please

Great picture, but between the Roku system interface, proprietary features, and the minor cost-cutting designs issues discovered after installation, it’s much better to spend a little more from a legitimate TV vendor then deal with numerous frustrating deficiencies. They provide a 3.5mm jack so I can use my 1986 Sony Walkman wired headphones or purchase proprietary Roku wireless speakers. So my new TCL TV is not compatible with my wireless Bose headphones, wireless Sony Speakers or new security camera system. Auxiliary Bluetooth transmitters are available–at an additional cost. The TCL remote sensor is positioned directly on the front of the TV. So if you position a center speaker anywhere in front; it blocks the sensor, which causes the remote to not function. Your only other option is to purchase a $50 IR extender. More wires and more time/ money. The TCL only has one USB port to source the extender power, so to use a remote control, you must sacrifice that port. For Roku, an active credit card to establish my free account. With all the quality-cutting designs and question both the reliability and longevity of this product.

just ordered a TCL 5 series 55′ today. Pretty excited to get a huge step up from what I’ve got. Will get OLED when this one finally bites the dust, and high quality OLED is as cheap as a TCL is now.

Hey Caleb! Have you considered figuring power efficiency into your video reviews? Is it worth discussing the power usage levels between tv sizes and types, or is is it not worth splitting hairs over?

  9. David Ricardo Gonzalez on January 26, 2021 at 4:16 pm

Hi Caleb, awesome video as usual! I am trying to get my hands on a TCL 6 series 65inch but it looks like all the usual retailers are out of stock for some reason, do you know how can I get my hands on one?

  11. Ryan Mossa on January 26, 2021 at 4:20 pm

I am torn to hold out for a actual 120HZ panel, but trying to get the best bang for the buck. I could get something in 60HZ now and save a LOT of money but will I regret that a year or two from now? Thoughts?

I can’t find X900H in 65in for under a 1000. Did they increase the price with demand?

  16. Gerry Garcia on January 26, 2021 at 4:24 pm

The 6 series sold out everywhere near me…

  17. Charles The Obscure on January 26, 2021 at 4:27 pm

The Sony X900H 65 inch is $1499 everywhere. Where are you seeing it at $999?

  18. Mark Astrup on January 26, 2021 at 4:27 pm

You might want to recheck the Sony X900H price again

  19. Kreig Embriano on January 26, 2021 at 4:28 pm

I got the Sony X900h 65” in October 2020 on sale for $960 on Amazon. More recently it’s been between 1-1.4K which is still lot a bad deal but I if you can wait for the next sale, I’d recommend it.

I would rather pay more to get a tv with hdmi 2.1 at 4k 120hz then a non hdmi 2.1 tv

  22. Hellenback on January 26, 2021 at 4:33 pm

What happened to the superior picture quality and upscaling prowess of the 950H set from Sony?
Did it break the bank at $1100?
Upscaling and color accuracy should be a huge consideration for those looking at lower cost sets (ie no calibration needed with colour accuracy >90% OOTB).
Abd costs much more over a year to always feed any set a 4K signal. The 950H upscaling @ 1080p is one of the few TVs where you will very often be hard pressed to notice a difference from an FHD -> UHD signal.
You might even get away with a good standard BluRay player, instead of having to upgrade your BluRay library to 4K
And ven PVR @ set-top boxes, which are often kept at 720p look good on the 950H.
(Or even 2019’s 950G, which _does_ come in under $1000).
You _do_ have to feed these things. And if you’re on a budget, the best upscaling is key.

I have researched the TCL brand. A number of reviewers report that TCL sells tvs that SHOULD cost considerably more. Then one reports that the DOD is concerned about these Chinese motherboards reporting data back home! I honestly think I can do just as well with a Japanese/Korean made set. Just me.

  29. Edysin Simon on January 26, 2021 at 4:42 pm

Sony burned me once…I’d been a loyal customer well over 40 years prior to the fuck over…No…fuck you sony! Never again.

  30. skylinexj100 on January 26, 2021 at 4:42 pm

how do you get your hands on any of these tvs in the uk?

  32. mikehenkes on January 26, 2021 at 4:44 pm

When do we talk about TCL and Hisense supporting slavery in China? I am just asking, I am not making a judgment on slavery and cultural differences between the CCP and the West…

  35. random guy on January 26, 2021 at 4:48 pm

Was going to get the tcl 6 series but on amazon all the reviews are terrible?

  36. curt k81 on January 26, 2021 at 4:50 pm

Ok recently I had to send my lg cx oled back for replacement. Due to shortages I would have had to wait a month at least to get my tv so obviously I needed a solid yet affordable tv to game on in the meantime. I did a little research and after a lot of searching I found a tcl 6 series. It really was hard to find I guess they are very popular due to the great value this set offers. I can’t express just how happy I am with this tv. With just a bit of adjustment to the settings the picture looks very very good especially in hdr. Also I swear the tv is getting better looking as it breaks in is that even possible? This is my second week owning it. I really don’t miss my oled that much I might even say the tcl has better and brighter hdr. I always thought tcl was a generic brand you bought at Walmart but boy was I wrong. It supports all hdmi 2.1 features for my series x except it only does 1440p 120 FPS instead of 4k. Not really a big deal at all. So I ask is tcl really this good or did I just luck into a really good panel? I see next year they are coming out with a 8k tv and if they offer this great of value on the reg I may buy it.

  37. Song on January 26, 2021 at 4:51 pm

2:30 where do you see 65Inch Sony X900H for under $1,000?

  38. lyndon ramchatesingh on January 26, 2021 at 4:52 pm

So is tcl better than hisense

  39. Roland W-H on January 26, 2021 at 4:52 pm

Here in the UK you can get the Sony X950H 49 inch for only £850. I know the 49 inch version is a little different than the 55 inch mainly in the viewing angles but I still think it’s an amazing deal.

  40. Safi Safari on January 26, 2021 at 4:55 pm

Most of the TVs that I looked up on Amazon, are more even way more $1000👎.

  42. Andy’s World on January 26, 2021 at 4:56 pm

I trusted you.. my TCL series 6 65 inch screen will be here on the 8th.. after watching many reviews (with often different views) I’ve settled on that truth worthy mug of yours 😂 I hope I’m blown away by this tv. 🤞

  43. Pinky Powers on January 26, 2021 at 4:58 pm

I bought a 43" TCL 5-Series in August as an upgrade to my 24" PC monitor. lol. That’s a big, bright screen to sit directly in front of. But I love it. If I upgrade again, it will only be for a true 120hz 4K that looks at least as good as this.

  44. ViNCENiO VL on January 26, 2021 at 4:58 pm

How about Samsung TU8500 which I’m going to buy..?

  45. Samuel Chan on January 26, 2021 at 4:59 pm

  46. Alex Vang on January 26, 2021 at 4:59 pm

what is the drop off from the X900 to the X800? The price difference is fairly dramatic. Thank you
