The best laptops for back-to-school 2021

This past year may have changed the way many of us attended school, but remote learning has only made it clear how important having a good laptop is. Here’s our picks for the best laptops for students, whether you’re in the classroom, or online. We’re big fans of the Macbook Air and Pro with the M1 chip, the Dell XPS 13, the Acer Aspire 5 and Chromebook Spin 713, Samsungs’ Galaxy Book Pro 360, and more.

The Dell XPS 13, and 15 are crappy laptops. I just sold my Dell 13 because it got too hot to the touch. I have an old Samsung notebook and it has NEVER overheated. It’s always cool to the touch, so I’m going with another Samsung.

As a student, I can’t afford any of these. Thank you for your awesome video. You successfully got a view count from me.

Read and understand my words, if some men focused on books as they focus on women’s bodies, we would have become in the community of scholars Pay close attention to those who do not clap when you win

  12. Tango Cash on August 11, 2021 at 9:58 pm

I was a student 35 years ago and I have teenager that is starting his high school in september. We were thinking what is the best laptop for him and I got him an inexpensive Dell Inspiron laptop with Linux and 16 gigs of RAM. It is fast as a wind and it has all he needs including scada software since in his high school he is going to studies basics of electrical engineering. At home he has a PC with windows that he uses for programming and for casual games. All laptops you suggested are extremely expensive and nothing but M1 is suitable for students.

  18. Nayim Bhuiyan on August 11, 2021 at 10:09 pm

I’m using HP ProBook 450 G4 from 2017. I upgraded my laptop RAM from 4GB to 12GB (8GB on the 2nd slot, dual channel mode) and add a SSD.
It’s serving me very well during online classes, assignment and exams.
My only complain is display, it’s only 720p

If you have an older laptop, upgrade RAM and add a SSD, performance will be significantly improved. You don’t need to buy a new one.

  22. Simon Bauer on August 11, 2021 at 10:15 pm

why do these videos always list the most expensive models and then some cheap garbage i mean 4 gigs of ram dont make me laugh this is 2021 get atleast 8 with 4 it is going to struggle so bad with windows besides there are so many good midrange options out there like asus vivobook or lenovo ideapad which offer good performance ad reasonable prices

  23. Om Singh on August 11, 2021 at 10:20 pm

Disgusting vid, not recommended to anyone. Get a hp envy or Asus zenbook 13 for windows, m1 Mac air will work on more than one monitor

  24. Brandon on August 11, 2021 at 10:22 pm

  25. Samuel Ramesh on August 11, 2021 at 10:27 pm

The Acer Chromebook should be a Windows laptop not chromeOS. If I would buy that I will low Kew find a way to put Windows on it. Its way to powerful not to have it.

  27. bcsa on August 11, 2021 at 10:28 pm

    Asus Zenbooks, maybe?

  28. Raja Afifi on August 11, 2021 at 10:29 pm

  29. Robert Mata on August 11, 2021 at 10:30 pm

Just get the Razer blade 14 3070 2021

  30. Thomas on August 11, 2021 at 10:30 pm

Why isn’t the X1 carbon ben 9 on your list? It offers great battery life, a 14" screen with 16:10 aspect ratio, good typing experience, great build quality. Almost every model you propose is a 13" screen. Why is there no 14 or 15 inches laptops? They are portable and offer more productivity with the bigger screen.

  31. lii lulll on August 11, 2021 at 10:31 pm

Just buy a legion 5 Pro and it is enough for everything you do.

  32. SirFrozu on August 11, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Hey im a student and i wanna buy under budget car. I chose to buy some good ol’ rolls royce as my under budget best car for students 2021.

  33. Venkatesh Gunda on August 11, 2021 at 10:32 pm

I’m sold on m1 air. Was planning on going for an xps, but macbook air is perfect for me and unbelievable value for money.

FYI, for all CS Majors out there. I’m a CS Majors as well, and in my research, found out 99 percent of the Dev programs run well, barring a few like docker, virtual machines etc which should not be a big deal considering "containers" topic is not covered in college.

  34. Paul Ho on August 11, 2021 at 10:33 pm

RIP Broshiba, but I still love my Pixelbook.

  35. Esua Ekpo on August 11, 2021 at 10:33 pm

More like a list of high end laptops for professionals going back to office, as a student, just watched for the sake of it, doesn’t help me out in anyway, they just happened to have snuck in a mid ranger at the end, for the sake of all things good and logical, 😸😅

  36. Morris Chan on August 11, 2021 at 10:35 pm

My work uses Dell XPS 13. It is crap, it has overheating issues that lag the computer to death.

  37. Kliment Georgiev on August 11, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Windows 11 is going to better x86 apps running on arm processors, so qualcomm PCs are going to get better when updated

  38. SinkingSail on August 11, 2021 at 10:36 pm

This channel is pure garbage 🗑️.

  39. BlackFreefall on August 11, 2021 at 10:36 pm

I got the XPS 13 11th Gen late last year. Beautiful machine but man, this laptop has a mind of its own. There were many occasions where I couldn’t turn on the laptop and it overheats. Most laptops would go into sleep mode when you close the laptop without shutting it off. I was not able to turn on the laptop if I didn’t shut it down completely. Reviewers should do a 30 days follow up with their techs. A search on Google can show that I’m not the only one with these issues.

    I left school in 1981,lol.

Get a Huawei Matebook 14 for 600$. It has a 2k display in a 3:2 aspect ratio and runs on high performance AMD RYZEN 4800H CPU. It’s a bargain for the money.
