Great movie. Clive Cussler books are always grab you from the beginning. Love the classic music.

I have to admit the hair color on Matthew M, was too much and the most distracting part.

Anyone who is interested in what NUMA does in this should know that there is a real NUMA, started by Clive Cussler, who is the author of the books that this was adapted from. It is a volunteer organization that locates historical wrecks. It’s now run by Clive’s son, Dirk, (named after the character). The real life adventures of Cussler are amazing and worth reading about in the books "The Sea Hunters 1 and 2".
Side note: In the intro, the guy standing with Slick Willy Clinton in the photo is Clive Cussler.

Did not think so at the time, but 2005 was a much better time…. The movies reflect the time period….

Big fan of Clive Cussler but McConaughey isn’t who I imagined playing Dirk. Love Steve Zahn but I didn’t imagine him as Gordino.

So unfortunate that Hollywood doesn’t make movies like these anymore. Adventures and family friendly. Movies these days are either some Marvel comic or all talk no action. Btw, I love Penelope cruz

  20. David Hutchinson on November 6, 2021 at 10:56 am

I love all of Clive Cussler’s books. I wish they would do "Treasure". That would be epic. Finding the lost treasures of the ancient Library of Alexandria…that would be so awesome in that the ancient library actually did exist.

This movie is amazing. In the director’s commentary along with Matthew McConaughey they talked about how much they loved making this, and wanted to make a sequel. I really wish this had more success so they could have

Do NOT compare this to the book. The book was excellent, this movie was just OK. If you compare them well than the movie is horrible.

reminds me of 2020, with a twist. Imagine there’s no fishes, it’s easy if you try. Imagine all the fishes, living deep in the sea dying ( think John Lennon – Imagine )

Way too many holes in the story .
