Watching your videos is one of the highlight of my day before going to work. I think the idea of showing the different price point for different vehicles is a great idea.

Building what I find as Utopia….

  4. Laurants Mccloskey on July 11, 2021 at 9:18 pm

holy moly Mark! i’m pretty sure we could use a pre fab ported under seat qbomb box 149$ with a couple of shallow skar or rockford subs for 200$ & get more than enough bass inside that truck cabin…I know this cause I’ve done it. head unit & interface for about 650 total, speakers in doors another 300-350, 5 channel rockford at 2 ohms on the sub channel another 600 & amp kit plus rca’s etc. another 100 bucks…. just over 2k total

  5. Hector Lozada on July 11, 2021 at 9:19 pm

    you should do it…

  6. Ricardo Felix on July 11, 2021 at 9:20 pm

Entry level build on a 07 Chevy Silverado

  7. Paul Bouchard on July 11, 2021 at 9:20 pm

JL C3-600’ speakers + JL 10w3v3 sub + JL RD900 amp…. is that entry level??

  8. David Lunsford on July 11, 2021 at 9:22 pm

I’d love to see you do that. That would be a great way to show us the difference between the 3. But do a 2013-2019 VW beetle 👍 I’ve had a really hard time doing mine. No one does anything to a bug like this ☺️ so far I have about $5k into mine. But I’m still dialing it in. 😉

  9. mohammed Senoussi on July 11, 2021 at 9:22 pm

How about reviewing the oem audio plus products for the money they are asking for there set ups

  10. Scott S on July 11, 2021 at 9:24 pm

Your unbiased information and wealth of knowledge is impressive. I have a 2019 Challenger with the factory Alpine Audio. I have been told that the Rockford fosgate DSR1 is extremely important ( with added benefits of equalization, line output mating , and a few other benefits), plus, allow to integrate an aftermarket 5 channel amp and
One 12 inch sealed subwoofer .
I was going to use an LCQ1 instead , but advised against it.
Please advise, do a video or elaborate on the Dsr1 in my situation. Thank you!
And yes! Pease do an entry-level system under $1k including all labor and parts.

  11. Benny Børgesen on July 11, 2021 at 9:25 pm

Hey Marc! Thanks to your great videos, I now have a banging stereo in my car. But I have a slight problem. When turning off (or on) the amp, a loud POP is sent through the speakers. It is very annoying and I don’t know how to fix it. I understand it is because DC voltage is sent through the amp.

    How do I rectify?

  12. Shane Cabbage on July 11, 2021 at 9:25 pm

Great info. As always, thank you for the great content.

  13. Juan Garcia on July 11, 2021 at 9:26 pm

Ive spent about $3500 on my f150 im happy with it but watching these types of videos makes you want to upgrade just out of couriosity of what could be.

  14. Matthew Boulter on July 11, 2021 at 9:28 pm

i could do an awesome system and not mid for 3k

  15. parminder555 on July 11, 2021 at 9:30 pm

I have been watching your youtube videos and love your work.
    I just need a suggestion.
I am running a set of Alpine X65c components in the front, a Rockford Fosgate P1-1X12 sub from a Pioneer PRS D4200F 4 ch amp which gives 75w per channel at 4 Ohm and a set of Morel Maximo ultra coaxials at the back which are run of my Jvc head unit.
The doors are 2 layer damped with acoustic foam rings at the back and front of speakers
The mid bass is great but the sub bass is not keeping up and I am looking to improve that.
The Rockford sub can handle 250w 4ohm
I am looking to add a mono amp to give 250w to the sub.
The mono amp I am looking to get is the kenwood X502-1 which puts out 300w 4ohm or the Rockford fosgate r2-250×1 which is 250w on 4ohm.
Will that be enough or I am also thinking of swapping the sub with a dd audio le-m10 which can handle 250-500w 4ohm.
Would that dd audio sub be a definitive improvement or I just need the mono amp?

    Thanks

  16. Damien Frizzell on July 11, 2021 at 9:30 pm

Got all my gear 2nd hand exept for head unit . Saved ALOT of money. And have a 1300 rms watt system with Android auto, morel amp and Rockford fosgate components alpine sub for around 1500 AUD

  17. dewey7330 on July 11, 2021 at 9:30 pm

Hi Mark. I love the content! Maybe you can do a “entry level” stereo system? In the price range of 1500-2000? I would love to see some of the products you would choose in that price range. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

  18. nick parkin on July 11, 2021 at 9:32 pm

    Crutchfield is great

  19. jason mitchell on July 11, 2021 at 9:36 pm

Having a hard time figuring how to replace my ram 8.4 uconnect without losing functionality and keep 6 speakers.

  20. Sam Laffosse on July 11, 2021 at 9:36 pm

If you have 2 speakers in the front and the rear but your rears are up on a sound bar (vs the fronts in the lower door card), which should you invest more in? I would think the elevated ones pointed down towards the driver would be more important. Thoughts? (1996 Cherokee btw)

  21. Tim datoolman on July 11, 2021 at 9:39 pm

This is how most projects I do go… start out with a 1K budget and end up with a 4K total by the time i’m done. LOL!!!!

  22. Chris C.C on July 11, 2021 at 9:41 pm

    I don’t I don’t even qualify as an entry-level, I only spend about $200 on my sound system. 🤔😫

  23. Dengaz on July 11, 2021 at 9:42 pm

one bitcoin for one sound install please thank you

  24. Keith Balltrip on July 11, 2021 at 9:43 pm

Putting in a new stereo in my truck, should I just run new speaker wire instead of the existing speaker wires? I am not a huge fan of the thin speaker wires.

  25. Sance Shaji on July 11, 2021 at 9:44 pm

While doing super budget builds, is it better to choose top series speakers from Mediocre/good manufacturers or entry level speakers from top tier high end brands?

  26. Josh Aubrey on July 11, 2021 at 9:44 pm

Justed getting started in car audio i have a subwoofer should I upgrade my door speakers

  27. Jerod Jordan on July 11, 2021 at 9:45 pm

I knew Mark was sophisticated when I saw the Volkswagen with sound deadener! Lol

  28. Kenny C on July 11, 2021 at 9:45 pm

BUY GOOD PRODUCTS and you won’t have to buy them again. In 2005 I was a JL rep and built my car into a demo vehicle using all JL, Monster Cable, and Eclipse. With a 2din AVN head unit, iPod interface, steering wheel interface, back up camera, Satellite radio, 300/4, 500/1, three 10w1v2-8s, front and rear VR components I was right at a shade over $4,000. That did not include the total custom trunk buildout, wiring, sound control, etc… Today in 2021 all that stuff is STILL in the same car and works perfectly. The installation is dated but still has integrity and everything is tidy so no need to tear out and replace.

  29. Mason Hackler! on July 11, 2021 at 9:46 pm

If this is for an actual truck you’re doing a build on this flax are definitely not gonna keep up with dual ported 13w7’s. KX2’s would be great to match. I’d love to see em in a video.

  30. Travis W on July 11, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Do you have any recommendation for internal antennas and antenna booster

  31. Rafael Robles on July 11, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Definitely want to see the different level setups. If you need a car for mid or high level please let me know. I would of course purchase all of the equipment + hardware.

  32. Jon choochoo93 on July 11, 2021 at 9:51 pm

I guess I should not got Dnr1007xr and skar audio system then

  33. james archer on July 11, 2021 at 9:54 pm

You should do a 2007 Mazda 6i hatchback

  34. rmaynard65 on July 11, 2021 at 9:56 pm

I would like to see a build for 2018 Silverado 8in non Bose system.

  35. Diego Fletes on July 11, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Mid range set up on my truck 😅

  36. Mason Hackler! on July 11, 2021 at 9:58 pm

    Entry level should be 1-2k
Mid to high end should be 2-5k
    High end should be 5-9k
Extreme should be 9k and up
These include install but not pricing of crazy boxes or custom pillars/doors. Due to those prices changing by car and shop.

  37. rwl1065 on July 11, 2021 at 9:59 pm

I put a decent system together for $800 and that includes sound deadening an amp and a subwoofer!

  38. NotMyName on July 11, 2021 at 10:00 pm

So my 3 grand is entry level. You need to talk to my wife

  39. Tony Glenn on July 11, 2021 at 10:00 pm

Yes on the comparative build idea!

  40. Calvin Barnes on July 11, 2021 at 10:00 pm

Thanks for making this video i never thought it was that much for a midrange system.

  41. Brandon L on July 11, 2021 at 10:01 pm

To yall complaining about price.. you can build a solid system for a grand. His prices are spot on. But like anything in life, you get what you pay for. If you want to be cheap and spend 300-600 on a system with trash DS18/Boss/Ignite/Walmart specials, then sure, go ahead. But when it sounds like shit, or takes a shit after a few months, don’t be surprised. The key to this is just doing your research, find good sales, and DIY as much as you can. There are also very good house brands (Dayton/NVX) you can use for budget builds.

  42. Glycerin on July 11, 2021 at 10:02 pm

    I do love Crutchfield.

  43. Lord Dorf on July 11, 2021 at 10:02 pm

  50. Robert Hickerty on July 11, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Me looking at my 2 amp 1 mono 1 4 channel, 2 subs in a custom built box, all 4 doors done, and running off a factory radio at under $1200…. I installed no sound deadening yet…
