We are tired of the Miata speakers sounding like our music is playing next to a blender, it sucks! And it’s not fair to our sweet head unit. So we decided it’s time to pair the miata with new speakers and an amp! This is gonna be fun … or will it?

If I have an amp delivering 100W at its channel and my speaker is rated 75W as in the video. Will the amp blow the speakers? Thanks

  2. Brad -LaFamiglia CaneCorso on July 8, 2021 at 9:01 pm

My OCD loves Jobe’s use of heat shrink tube!

  3. Anthony Pilkjaer on July 8, 2021 at 9:01 pm

Is there any reason why you don’t remove old speakers wiring and use it to pull through new cable via the door seal?

  4. bt to cool on July 8, 2021 at 9:03 pm

    thic bob the builder (:

  5. LouisVuitton Don on July 8, 2021 at 9:03 pm

Getting different speakers in a car really depends on the stock ones I had a 2002 Lexus is300 that’s stock sound system actually sounded nice and clear. sounded a lot batter than my 2017 wrx

  6. SlipStreamTV on July 8, 2021 at 9:03 pm

Gotta do it for the teteos 🇩🇴

  7. Hyper Focused Man on July 8, 2021 at 9:04 pm

    Awesome video!
    Some more things.
It could also be a good idea to put the wires in a plastic channel/tunnel to prevent movements against things (but maybe you did that?), and use cable-ties to lock the non movement parts of the cables, and therefore prevent the cable isolation to be damage over time. But maybe that’s overkill? 🤔😜😁

Otherwise very good and informative, and easy to grasp information. It was not hard to understand how the system was connected.
Easy: A head unit, speakers 🔊, amplifier and then just connect it together, with wire. 👍

  8. Norm Wetherbee on July 8, 2021 at 9:05 pm

This is all good info but why does the guy filming your stuff keep moving the camera back and forth like that? Is that something your viewers enjoy? Christ…put it on a tripod or a gimbal if it’s not something you’re going for.

  9. Fug Shid on July 8, 2021 at 9:08 pm

If you’re audio setup cost more than your car, you’re doing it right

  10. MyntyFresh on July 8, 2021 at 9:10 pm

    Add a sub GG

  11. Austin Adams on July 8, 2021 at 9:10 pm

I have a 2020 challenger RT, and the sound quality is great but it just isn’t very loud at all, would it be a good idea/even possible to add only the amp for higher volume output or should I just go ahead and add speakers too?

  12. Dylan Kershaw on July 8, 2021 at 9:11 pm

lol audiophiles who actually know what they are doing are cringing at this

JL is nice, Ground Zero is king!

  15. Jack Pepal on July 8, 2021 at 9:13 pm

The gain knob is not a volume knob. You need to set it correctly unless you want to blow your shit up. Too high will cause distortion and can blow your speakers and too low won’t give accurate speaker performance. Use a multimeter to set it correctly or if you have good ears, listen and turn it up until it distorts then turn it back down a little

  16. LSMe 25 on July 8, 2021 at 9:13 pm

I’m sure this is a great video but I just wanted to come and answer the title with a, “duhhhh”.. we’re all here because we’ve heard terrible speakers and good speakers 🤣🤣🤣

  17. Soulfinder Gaming on July 8, 2021 at 9:14 pm

Got a Rockford Fosgate 4 door speakers, Amp, and a single 12 in a box. Paid roughly 2k for it installed. Playing my radio. 2 down from max. I’ve blown something and it sounded like crap they fixed it. Less then a week later it happened again. The volume isn’t realy much louder. Just sounds better. But do I feel it’s worth it. Yes if you cN find stuff you cN turn up for a 45 minute drive without blowing something.

  20. Pat Davis 2403 on July 8, 2021 at 9:14 pm

Best song, especially for that car

  21. Dickus Mobius on July 8, 2021 at 9:15 pm

You should do a subwoofer next

  22. William Jones on July 8, 2021 at 9:15 pm

I have an amp that can handle 150 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohm, and speakers that can handle 100 watts at 2.5 ohms. I had assumed I could turn the amp down 20%, then I don’t have an issue where neither the amp nor the speakers were overdriven. Am I wrong?

  23. Rob Williams on July 8, 2021 at 9:16 pm

    Not component speakers

  24. Christian Gonzales on July 8, 2021 at 9:17 pm

Would a gaming console connect to those video stuff 14:27

  25. Uncle Joe on July 8, 2021 at 9:20 pm

Well, the $20k should pay for a year’s petrol for that truck. Then there’s the planet to consider.

  26. Matt Mac Donagh on July 8, 2021 at 9:25 pm

1.3m views? NICE!!! 2 things. First, Why a 4 channel amp if you are only using 2 of them? Future proof maybe? Sub?? 🙂 Second, look up "fast rings" in the size of your front speakers. They will help direct all of the speaker’s output through the grill rather than losing some of it in the door panel. You will also gain some low-end response from the speakers by doing this.

    Nice job!

  27. Dumisile Ndebele on July 8, 2021 at 9:25 pm

Never seen this in Africa. Wouldn’t mind to have that exact trx in the streets of Zimbabwe

shout to for pointing out to never mix signal and power wires. always run rca and signal seperate from pos and neg!

  31. its papa j on July 8, 2021 at 9:31 pm

The fuse is suppose to be at most 1ft from the battery since it won’t be as effective at catching shortages if it’s any further.

  32. Bass Addiction on July 8, 2021 at 9:33 pm

Bro you have I mean have to asap asap get rid of those complete pos useless actually they make your speakers sound like shit GET RID OF THOSE BOOM MAT SPEAKER "BAFFLES" THAT STYROFOAM CUP THATS THE SPEAKERS IN THE DOOR THOSE THINGS HAVE BEEN PROVEN TIME AFTER TIME TO BE 100% JUNK YOU ARE CHOKING YOUR SPEAKER MAKING IT BREATH THRU A STRAW come on bro

  34. LukeDude759 on July 8, 2021 at 9:34 pm

Man, if the factory speakers in my car were like that, I’d happily shell out hundreds of dollars just to make it sound halfway decent. Or if I wanted to save all that money, I would just never listen to music in my car ever again.

  35. Daijoubu on July 8, 2021 at 9:36 pm

Even $500, a lot of it is snake oil fund

  40. Charles Klein on July 8, 2021 at 9:39 pm

You put the resistor way to close to the amp. Should be closer to the car battery.

  41. jacob moore on July 8, 2021 at 9:40 pm

JL is the shit but I would break them in next time they will sound extremely crisp

  42. Derek Murle on July 8, 2021 at 9:42 pm

I mounted an amp upsidedown and when temperatures dropped , I got condensation and fried my amp. watch yourself if you live anywhere that’s cold sometimes the electronics are mounted to the top of the amp. And when it warms up shorts it out .

Can’t go wrong with JL. Can just get pricey though.

  50. Walter Day on July 8, 2021 at 9:57 pm

Great video on the basics, Zach, but it appears the Miata came with tweeters in the upper sections of the door cards… Maybe you can do a follow-up video where you upgrade the new JL C1-650X coaxial speakers for a set of JL component speakers and the installation of some crossovers… And maybe even a small subwoofer to really give the Miata some lungs! (A couple of decent 8"s or maybe a single JL 10W0v3-4 to match nicely with the current Amplifier???)
