I wonder why JL Audio does not come out with a little ported subwoofer?

I unlike you was unimpressed with the Tesla 3 sound system. No real stage or imaging and not much stereo separation. It is loud and relatively punchy. The highs lacked clarity. The mid-bass to pronounced.

I get your point for 98% of people will love this system. If it were not for the beautiful glass roof in the luxury package I would get the base 3.

Factory Car audio systems I liked? The Nakamichi sound system in the 1990 Lexus LS400. Any of the Chrysler infinity sound systems from the Caravan to the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I am thinking a good part of the problem with the Tesla 3 sound system may be its power supply is very noisy. Giving the audio system an isolated supply may be all this system needs to be passable. Definitely not worth the upgrade. Two well placed tweeters 4 mid bass drivers and an very fast sub is all this car needs. That would give a much better sound quality than the current set up. With all the unused space in the front of the 3 I would have put the Subwoofer in the front of the car. That would make the audio have an much more realistic quality. A cd and the ability to have an external hard drive full of high quality full resolution music would be a huge plus. Those days are passing quickly.

    But does it have bass?

Have a March 2018 TM3. Premium package is also the glass roof. The whole of LTE connectivity for newer TM3s (maps with traffic, music, etc) will cost $100 a year for TM3’s ordered after July 2018.

hi. Im also trying to buy the best audio system for my car but the media market like YouTube is useless because they almost just talk and we can’t even not listen any well known music like the rolling stone, pink Floyd, madonna, the bee jees, etc. So even if someone is presenting a sound system it’s utterly impossible to have an impression if we cannot listen well known music in these video. In reality i want to listen music in my car and my apartment , not necessarily listen to a particular brand and only artistic music is played in my car and apartment. I noticed that almost every sound system seller is playing huge maniac bass never use by real musicians. Also going deep without distortion triple the power needed and triple the space needed and actually no company is explaining this to anyone, no salemans show their system because they don’t know which music to play and thus tune and balance their system accordinly. The entire car audio market is then just noise selled by incompetant that need to boost price tenfold. They even sell special big bass cd that are in reality distorted unbalance tone recorded with synthetizer. So to conter react this im just keeping my stock radio in my car and i bought a computer speaker set for my tv at home where im listening good old farted gary numan music on YouTube at low volume.

I’ve been wondering why someone has not commented on this sound system. I think that there are just so many great features about the M3 that people have just pretty much skipped over it, but it really is a great system. ( Brian-I’m an old guy Foo Fighter/ Nirvana fan myself).

  8. antonio volpe on March 25, 2021 at 12:15 am

model s basic sound is very nice. it seems model 3 is even better

  9. James Morgan on March 25, 2021 at 12:22 am

If you love the sound system try playing music from something other than the built in slacker which is capped at 128kbps stream. If you listen through slacker on your phone if you have premium you can stream at 320kbps. It sounds sooo much better. Even better, use a thumb drive and flac. You’ll not want to go back to slacker after you’ve heard the system really shine.

Tesla model 3’s gigantic screen looks like a wart on the dashboard

This video better be high energy. I just finished watching the 1988 National Aerobics Championship.

  12. wooo weee on March 25, 2021 at 12:32 am

supposedly there are speakers in the dash, how many not sure.

  13. BetaboyBuffet on March 25, 2021 at 12:35 am

When playing spotify from my Iphone connected via BlueTooth the sound in the model 3 is horrible. Its flat and sharp. Previously owned 3 volvo v70’s with the midrange sound system and these sounded waaaaaay better. It would be nice to be able to play content in the model 3 via a usb connection. Assuming that would increase the sound quality.

Horrible review. There are 4 speakers in the dash that you missed and there is no review of the audio system.

Principal Strickland called Marty a slacker, I have no clue of slacker Radio.

  20. Scott Franco on March 25, 2021 at 12:46 am

I don’t see the advantage of Slacker. Spotify and similar services are way better, I can play albums. I don’t know why Tesla cannot make distribution deals with Spotify or similar services.

  21. more jello please on March 25, 2021 at 12:47 am

this is a plug for tesla, they don’t talk about the sound system at all other than they like it but don’t say why.

  22. Ben Liu on March 25, 2021 at 12:51 am

Slacker radio sucks big time, worse thing in model 3.

  23. echo3347 on March 25, 2021 at 12:53 am

I have one Question About the USB-Ports. Does the Model 3 have USB-C ports in front, or regular 3.0 ones?

  28. Michael Schend on March 25, 2021 at 12:56 am

When I pull up a song I want to hear, it starts to play it and then skips to the next song after about 10 seconds. Anyone else have this issue and solution?

  29. GreenRoomTV on March 25, 2021 at 12:57 am

Misleading Title. This is a Slacker commercial but not a sound system review, as the title suggests.

  34. Guy Cinemuh on March 25, 2021 at 1:03 am

Would be nice for those who have subscription services such as SiriusXM or Amazon prime radio to have the ability to install the apps for use in the Tesla entertainment system.
