    I worked at a Rogers call center when VOIP just hit the market. Rogers hired 3rd party sales teams that were going door to door. To hit sales quotas, some customers were told that they needed to upgrade to VOIP or they would straight up lose their phone lines. My first 3 months working there were fielding calls of this nature every day, for 8 hours a day. The kicker, while the upgrade was almost instantaneous with a tech installation, the downgrade back was a 2 week waiting period, in which time the customers wouldn’t have a phone line. The big 3 in general are just scummy monopolies.

    Wow this is not acceptable! I remember how much I paid in hidden cost while with Verizon. I finally purchased my phone directly from an electronic store (Walmart sells Verizon compatible phones for $80-$90) and you just transfer your contacts from phone to phone inside your settings. Call Amazon for the transfer from old phone to new) you can keep your old phone number as long as it was kept active, and you set up for the $40 prepaid service. Dont like to use the prepayment through your bank account because they tend to take out extra payments. I put an automatic payment by phone in my contact list and every month, I call on the Anniversary date(signed up on the 3rd,so I pay on the 3rd every month, with a one time set up with my debit card number). I have called the automatic payment system( with just a few numbers to okay the payment)on my cell phone without any problems while traveling. Ive used this method for 10 yrs now. In the past to save money I had use Verizon’s $50 prepaid plan for unlimited talk and text in the past, but after I learned that its much cheaper to buy your phone and set it up with the $40 smart phone plan,its much cheaper. Now if you dont use a smart phone, you can get a flip phone ( if they still sale them from a family dollar store) and use the $30 plan. The text message charge is 3 texts from a minute charge.

    Go with freedom mobile they have unlimited talk, text and data for 60 a month! Great deal in Canada.

    I pay $250 to my network provider inc tax 4 lines unlimited youtube,Netflix,hulu,spotify,talk and text to Mexico and canada 15gb extra data,can i find something better.

    As a previous worker on call center in Portugal.
    I can definitely say that these tactics are used everywhere.
    Pressure sales, interrupting customers in talk and not clear saying of prices or discounts..
    Like here we say that the discount remains the same.. but in the end it’s just the discount. The prices rise 0.5€ each year per service we have.
    Such mistrust and pressure on call center operators that I left.
    Also didn’t have best time on calls I had once call of 1hour…

    Bell offered me a $10 reduction in my cell phone bill but I had to give them my driver license and SOCIAL INSURANCE numbers so that they could do a credit check first??? And I had been with them for 50 years! Bye, bye Bell.

Why soon after opting for the most basic cell phone plan should I now only be able to find 1 photograph taken by my cell phone out of many still on my cell phone now when trying to download another photograph onto my computer? So that I am going to use up data and go over the limit when emailing them to a relative so she can create a link for each and then email them to me 1 by one as I want to use them?

    Go to Walmart, buy a 150 dollar phone, and get s straight talk plan for 35 a month. That’s what I, as a college student, have and it works just fine

    That lady who paid $200 something a month for three lines is NOTHING! Canadians pay some of the highest cell phone prices in the world?? I beg to differ! We had three cell phones and a house phone that only added $20/month on a plan with Verizon in Texas, USA and by time we left we were paying $400/month! They do have the best service here, but that’s just crazy! So I finally canceled the service and moved on. A month later I got a bill for like $300! They apparently forgot to cancel the home phone and bc of that it cost us the base phone plan plus the $20 we got charged for the line. On top of that I lost ALL my pics stored with them for 10 years! I didn’t know I wouldn’t be able to transfer my pics or not see them ever again! I tried fighting it but they refused to drop it. That was a dark time in my life. We never even got to use the home phone service bc we had no clue it was still on.
