Wow this channel is such a blessing…
1990 Toyota 4Runner. Just ordered a 300 amp alternator. before I start anything I’m going to pull all the interior and use a combination of lizard skin, second skin, and then dynamat everything. We’ll see where the rest takes me lol ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ

currently running 3 speakers. 2 mid range and 1 tweeter on a 2 channel 600 watt amp with the gain turned all the way up connected to a chinese headunit. It was cheap, like really REALLY cheap…..but it sounds like absolute trash because without the gain all the way up you straight up cant hear it in my loud ass car… If I get a subwoofer do you think I could salvage my system or should I just start from scratch?

A great source of Car Audio knowledge CAF!
How do people solve the problem of a 2 channel factory Hi level output to aftermarket 4 channel amp? Can I passively parallel, say Left factory head unit to channels 1 & 3 Hi level inputs on the aftermarket amp? With Factory R out passively feeding 2 & 4 Hi level inputs as well? I can’t even seem to find a hi-low converter that will do this for me. I want to have front/rear L&R and realise that "Fade" would be a set and forget situation.

  12. Ryan Betlejeski on January 7, 2021 at 8:16 pm

Soooooo, can I have a "10000" watt sub being controlled by a 20$ stereo? Im completely new to this and just want something that’ll kick enough to get your average Joe to say "WOW"

    I give up … it’s too complicated.

  14. Hey guys it's Nash on January 7, 2021 at 8:16 pm

Hey mark …my car’s front door got it’s door speakers outlet at the top of the panel ..and I wanna install mid range speakers is it a good choice or should I choose full range ones ?

  15. bangyahead1 on January 7, 2021 at 8:17 pm

My build starts with a reverse camera, which means I need a headunit with a screen because those things that attach to the rearview mirror are illegal in Australia. This led me tothe Pioneer AVH-A215BT, which also has three pre-outs. I wanted more bass than the stock stereo, so that means adding a subwoofer. Anything other than a 5 channel amp is pointless for me. So that means an Alpine 5 channel amp, which means I now need new door speakers……. So, Alpine component speakers in the front doors and Alpine coaxials in the rear doors. The subby can run 300W RMS but the amp only does 200W to the subby channel. Crap.

  16. Harvey Kaye on January 7, 2021 at 8:18 pm

Wow! A logical and comprehensive presentation of a truly complex topic. I added myself to your Subscribe list. Hopefully, the rest are as good. Well done.

I have a 2017 Silverado crew cab. I want to do something that will get me a lot of bass. (Bass head) but I want to keep it under the seat. I also want loud speakers to have it heard from far. What would u recommend ? Brand wise? And would something like this be possible without doing a blow through.?

  25. Sinni on January 7, 2021 at 8:29 pm

Know your budget and know what you expect. I recently had a 1 off stereo custom install done on my 1991 300zx TT with what I wanted to be done. Both local "stereo shops" said "no way, can’t be done!", not with a double din….They lost out on $3k. I reached out on Facebook and my friends recommended some guy named Jesse who owned jt creations. Met up with him, told him what I wanted for a stereo, agreed on my expectations and he went above and beyond on my stereo. Can’t wait to rub it in the faces of my other local "stereo shops" who said it couldn’t be done and lost out on $4k. For a grand more I got the stereo I wanted and it was custom for the car

I’ve been into car audio and install all myself for over 20 years. Today its much more tame (getting old). I recently got rid of my infinity kappa 6x9s and replaced for components (rear doors). But now I find the treble too high from behind and the sound is weighted to the drivers side! In addition I have always found that in the rear of car the bass is much greater. Any tips to fix these issues (i have a 8" JL audio microsub). Tried balancing left and right but then the front passenger has a more unbalanced sound.

Just finished my final step, added a RF punch 400 and put all the juice on 2 typeR 6x9s. Even added a 250 Amp alternator over my stock 160. Still sounds low and possibly not even as loud as before. Wtf is going on? Subs sound better. Interior not so much. Tips welcome! And no, I’m not swapping out my speakers

Plan everything from day 1. What do you want as an end goal and what is your budget. Buy it piece work and donโ€™t have it installed until the final phase. Labor is gonna be the real price, so save save save. My 2 cents.

I have no clue about stereo systems. So Iโ€™m just going to bite the bullet and just get the good stuff and not waist time with cheap crap. Im looking at getting the JBL GTO609C Premium speaker set. Iโ€™m confused on this thing calledโ€ 2 way speakersโ€. Iโ€™m wanting to put about 4 or 6 speakers in my car. Does this mean I can only have 2 speakers in my car. I have no clue about the wiring aspect of putting in speakers

  46. BeastAtGaming on January 7, 2021 at 8:53 pm

Hey! I’m wondering what subwoofer configuration you would recommend for a saloon car? I currently have a bmw 5 series e61, I’m thinking about a 2×12" subwoofer box and external amp. I had a single 10" in my old audi A3 that worked beautifully, at around 500W. How would 2×12" work in comparison, at around the same wattage? Although I’m looking for around 1000W rms. Is the size important at all? Would there be a noticeable difference by having 2×10" 1000W instead of 2×12" 1000W?
I’d love an answer from you ๐Ÿ˜€

Okay before I tell you my problem I want to tell you I do not care if I cut harnesses or whatever I have to do .. so I have a 02 Tahoe I put my amps in the back ran everything like it should be I came off of my amp to all the speakers that I want but there is a factory amp the door speakers will play but if I turn it up it turns my amps in protection mode and my subs are not hitting at all matter of fact my 12 sounds like it is blown and it very well might be because of the feed bag from the factory amp so what is the quickest way to get rid of that factory amp I do not want to buy harnesses to bypass it I just want to have power signal and ground and no factory amp I could tell you a little bit more about what I did that didn’t work but I don’t want to make this message any longer than it already is please help me
