Very helpful to see a student review of the XPS 15 7590! How is the battery life with the 4K display? Do you think that stylus input is useful on a clam-shell laptop like this one? I am considering getting the same laptop, but not sure whether to get the 4K-touch or the FHD display.

I have an Asus zenbook 15 UX533FD and it’s great WHEN IT WORKS. I’ve had it for about a year and I’ve had to bring it into the store 3 times for fixes (battery at 300%, blue screen, unresponsive utility screen). I did my research and this laptop has great specs but because I’ve been having so many issues with it, it’s made me consider trying to get a refund for it which is a big disappointment.

Which one will work better for an engineering student, Asus Vivobook S14 or Dell Inspiron 14 5490?

What are you thoughts with Huawei Matebook D15, Asus X507, and Samsung Notebook 9 pro for running softwares like CAD and adobe editing softwares?

  8. Anthony Wu on January 14, 2021 at 11:51 pm

ME Student here. If you’re looking to get a laptop, go for windows!! I got a mac a few years ago, before I decided to do engineering, and it is good enough for you lower div classes, but once you get into some of the later classes in the program you start to have issues cause more often than not the software is only available for windows.

For Purdue engineering, should I get a laptop with 16gb of RAM, or is 8gb sufficient?

What’s your thought on the MSI GS66 or the GS75? They have an amazing GPU. I also thought about the new Dell XPS 15, but that one has very limited ports and I don’t know if its GPU will be powerful enough for my studies. I will work with SolidWorks, but I’m also planning to run the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on it.

    Great video👍🏼

Hi I was wondering if an i7 9th gen MacBook with 16gb ram and a Radeon 5200-5300 good? Or should I consider returning it for something with a better graphics card? I’m a mechanical engineer and I’m just scared my assignments will take more than 5 hours to complete on some of the programs I’ll be using

HHey man, could you make a video on starting as a Freshman at PurdueU? Like things to watch out for, resources to find immediately, how to adapt, how to be prepared for academics?
Could you please cover that for both on campus and ONLINE incoming students for the Fall 2020 semester?
