  12. Tammy Forbes on March 13, 2021 at 11:22 pm

I like my alpines W265 with the built in DSP and time alignment! It’s the center piece of my system! The rest is DC audio or XS power!

Great review, appreciate all the great information! Could you tell me if the JVC would mount in a 2014 Cadillac CTS coupe with the factory Bose, Nav, rear back up camera? Car has the in-dash pop up screen. Thank you in advance for your help.

I’m currently waiting to get the Alpine head unit

  21. Jah Son on March 13, 2021 at 11:35 pm

Hey, great video! I installed the Alpine iLX-W650 in my truck earlier this year and added all the modules and attachments (steering wheel controls, Onstar retention, parking brake bypass, siriusxm since I still had a subscription, front and rear cameras). I love it. I just haven’t figured out how to get the automatic screen dimmer to work, and setting up the speaker output for Onstar was a little tricky. Apart from that, it’s fantastic. Definitely recommend it. I think I’ll put one in my wife’s truck, too. Side note: I do miss the volume knob even though I have my steering wheel controls and the screen does gestures for volume and searching/skipping. I’m just old-school like that.

You need to talk slower, and pause between edits, you should give people time to Comprehend what your saying. To many youtubers don’t pause between sentences. You might have something good to say but, if you don’t understand what you’re saying what good is it. Had to give you thumbs down.

  23. Mark K on March 13, 2021 at 11:37 pm

My son and I just installed the Alpine plus amp and kicker speakers and sub only to have the car broken into in my garage 2 weeks ago. It was in our project car that he and I have been restoring. It took us 3 years to restore our 1970 Challenger. The Stereo system was the last peace to the restoration. $2000.00 canadian down the drain. Now I need to find a secret santa bacause we can not afford to put another system into it. I loved that head unit.

  24. Peco250 on March 13, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Thanks. Just subbed. Loved the deluvery, the speed of delivery, the no BS, staight to the point..Only critisms are. 1. Peak values…thats just the manufacturers marketing, what are the RMS values. Also how many preouts do they each have ? 2. The pros and con bit at the end, you were giving pros and cons on the kenwood / jvc but the sony was in the frame. Unless that was intentional as some kind of subliminal πŸ™‚

  25. Walter Verbeeck on March 13, 2021 at 11:42 pm

Why no Nakamichi Android head unit in this review, they too have 4×50 watts, have 4 volts pre out, 3 volt for the subwoofer.

  26. Nathan Jay on March 13, 2021 at 11:43 pm

Answer: None of these, it’s the Dual DMCPA11BT.

  27. CommonSenseFactor on March 13, 2021 at 11:44 pm

  32. Sorin Nicu on March 13, 2021 at 11:47 pm

Sony has restive screen! And the Alpine has no RDS on the radio, or Android Mirroring.

Please can I have your WhatsApp number I’m from Africa

  34. Ron T on March 13, 2021 at 11:50 pm

The JVC/Kenwood units are a POS. Sound quality sucks. Display lag sucks. A bunch of useless in-car settings. File and Folder view for your ext USB that’s full of Music is horrible and Sucks. Pretty much the same kind of dog shit any of the Android radios are. And worried about Android Auto?? Don’t because it’s a certified hunk of shit too.

  35. vq Brandon on March 13, 2021 at 11:53 pm

    Thoughts on the BOSS BV800ACP?

  36. Mtz Art on March 13, 2021 at 11:53 pm

  37. John Morris on March 13, 2021 at 11:54 pm

I will never have another Kenwood. I have one out in my garage right now that I can’t get working. $1000 down the drain.

  38. Justin on March 13, 2021 at 11:56 pm

I need a volume knob so y’all know what I went with

  39. Samuel P on March 13, 2021 at 11:58 pm

do any of these have mirrioring features? and have speedometer gauges?

  40. Elliot S on March 14, 2021 at 12:00 am

Normally I only purchase big name brand head units, but I was looking for a larger touchscreen than the standard 7" for the large dash of my Tundra. I went with the Dual DMCPA11BT, because it has a huge, floating 10 inch capacitive touchscreen, higher resolution than most at 1024×600 (compared to 800×480), and it was under $300 (I paid $250). It looks and sounds great. Has been working flawlessly for 6 months. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking at a larger screen HU.

    How about Pioneer 1500?

  42. Adam Waugh on March 14, 2021 at 12:00 am

    Were the pioneer

  43. J Ca on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

So my question is how is the volume on the Alpine. It has 45×4 but that is the peak. The RMS power is 16-18 depending on where I look. The JVC is listed at 45×4 but the RMS is 21. So is the volume on the Alpine sufficient or do you need to buy the amp that you can attach to the back of it?

  44. titanium man on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

Great video sir, straight to point on features. I just received the Alpine and will install this weekend.

  45. itsruf1 on March 14, 2021 at 12:03 am

  46. Tonka Hervey II on March 14, 2021 at 12:03 am

Does having a aftermarket head unit makes a big difference when you have subs, aftermarket 6x9s and amps?

  48. Daniel Salcido on March 14, 2021 at 12:08 am

When you restocking on the ILX Unit it’s out of stock ):

  49. Joe on March 14, 2021 at 12:10 am

The alpine ILx-w650 has issues with iPhone 11. When connected to CarPlay, callers have issues hearing you. Many people reporting this issue online. I’ve done so much troubleshooting and found that as soon as I hooked up an older phone (iPhone 7), call quality was fine. There is currently no fix besides switching to speaker phone or disconnecting CarPlay and using Bluetooth instead.
