SKY IS JOURNEY BUT WORSE! Prove me wrong.

  2. Kodesai on November 2, 2021 at 10:05 am

Scarlet Nexus could be the best game ever, but the stupid fucking art style is a massive turn off for me. Won’t give it a second look.

  3. The Riff Writer on November 2, 2021 at 10:06 am

Oh, my household of four (obsessively) knows all about Sky: Children Of Light!

  7. aghostdream on November 2, 2021 at 10:11 am

I got Sky on your recommendation and I’m obsessed with it now. Thanks. Right now the Season is a crossover with The Little Prince.

  8. Julio Rosal on November 2, 2021 at 10:11 am

    See scarlet nexus thumbnail, instawatch.
Its really fun. Though text heavy but thats ok, cause conversation while fighting never really felt good as you cant focus on the conversation and the wild fight at the same time….

    Titular

  10. Deficient Prozac on November 2, 2021 at 10:14 am

I really want to play Scarlet Nexus, but something about it makes me hesitate.

  11. orbitaldragon on November 2, 2021 at 10:16 am

I have Scarlet Nexus.. I am surprised to see it on the list after all the hype I seen for it. I just have not played it yet.. I am so far behind. I waited for Ps5 for several games and Valhalla in particular took ages to complete.. I still got Ratchet and Clank, Scarlet Nexus, Cris Tales, Monster Hunter Stories 2.. Plus a handful more on the way like Baldo’s Adventure.

  12. Dylan De Loe on November 2, 2021 at 10:16 am

The potentially fatal sales flaw for Scarlet Nexus? Not releasing it on Switch.

  13. Kurt Lambert on November 2, 2021 at 10:17 am

Bought scarlet nexus day one and I’ve loved it how its gone so under the radar is beyond me

  14. Alex Pratt on November 2, 2021 at 10:18 am

Dude… Psi Ops… deep cut. Great reference, I miss that game so much.

  15. lilhayme on November 2, 2021 at 10:19 am

    I love Scarlet Nexus!

  16. Felix Ramirez on November 2, 2021 at 10:19 am

Oof, Alba is definitely going to be the next game I get.

  17. Devin Welch on November 2, 2021 at 10:23 am

T-T Necromunda: Hired Gun was the only game I’ve ever refunded because it just wasn’t working.

  18. Jylstin on November 2, 2021 at 10:23 am

Scarlet Nexus ain’t just a generic anime trope action JRPG game, it’s a game where bandai Namco has delivered this new JRPG IP with very interesting and lovable characters and story which is not perfect but still enjoyable to the end. The combat is very diverse but enemy types tend to make it repetitive but also a lot of fun chaining combos. You don’t have to be a anime lover to play this game even though the cutscenes are manga like slideshows.. it tries to be something different from other games. All In all scarlet nexus is slick, fun and stylish but not perfect but still something u can enjoy with 40hrs of story content WORTH your time not to be brought down by disappointing side quests, repetitive combat and limited environments. Advice to get on sale if you’re skeptical

Spelling error, 9 shittest video games of 2021

  20. Scott Guffie on November 2, 2021 at 10:24 am

From some of the comments mentioning the Ys games and from my own experiences with the Whatculture team I can’t really recall them ever mentioning much in the way of JRPG’s at all, let alone the greats like the Ys series or the Trails series. I’d say I’m surprised but I’m more disappointed that to so many big names JRPG’s (outside the Final Fantasy’s anyway) are still somehow this tiny little niche that only the nerdiest of the nerdy care about. Which makes the fact that Jules barely seems to know about them surprising considering his love for D&D.

  21. zedhead90 on November 2, 2021 at 10:25 am

Death’s Door belongs on this list.

  22. oguz emre tektas on November 2, 2021 at 10:28 am

    Scarlet nexus is a gem

  23. P N on November 2, 2021 at 10:29 am

I 2nd scarlet Nexus. I like it a lot. I’m also looking forward to the new game plus to see how it plays with different players.

  24. Honeneko on November 2, 2021 at 10:30 am

From what i know, games like scarlet nexus are good but people want an mmo. There are mmo equivalents out there but they’re okay at best; heavily relying on gacha systems.

  25. EpicShelter Studio on November 2, 2021 at 10:33 am

I’m planning on buying a second copy of scarlet nexus soon. I love the game and I’m still playing it

  26. Andrewmon on November 2, 2021 at 10:33 am

    Kaze and the Wild Masks!

If you enjoy Donkey Kong Country games, then please take a cance on this one. You can thank me later 😉

  27. Denis on November 2, 2021 at 10:33 am

Scarlet Nexus is amazing. Shame that it’s overlooked

  28. Throws N' Brews on November 2, 2021 at 10:33 am

So… I kinda think most people are a little burned out on anime… I know I am and that’s mostly why I haven’t picked up Scarlet Nexus or the Neir remaster/remake thing. It’ll be something nice to pick up for cheap later in the generation, but at this point its a hard "No thanks"

Same with Necromunda – I’ll happily pick it up at some point during a Steam sale, but its not a full price purchase for me. Nothing Warhammer really can be.

  29. Bryce Ginther on November 2, 2021 at 10:35 am

I’m excited for Scarlet Nexus but wasn’t sure if I wanted to commit the full price right now. I picked up YS 8 on my switch for dirt cheap a few weeks ago and just had a blast playing it so I immediately bought Ys 9 on steam the same day I finished Ys 8. It’s so much fun and has an interesting story/setting. In the near future I’d like to get Scarlet Nexus.

  30. Gosha Koretskiy on November 2, 2021 at 10:38 am

It’s more like top new switch games

  31. Nathaniel Colon on November 2, 2021 at 10:39 am

I platinumed Scarlet Nexus and I’ve been craving more action RPG’s ever since. Trying to get that feeling back.

  32. Patrick Marsh on November 2, 2021 at 10:40 am

The reason I avoided Rebel Outlaw is because Rebel Galaxy let you have a much more customized experience and MASSIVE SHIP NOT A TINY LITTLE…

  33. Chris G on November 2, 2021 at 10:40 am

Nice list of games to avoid

  34. Broba Fett on November 2, 2021 at 10:44 am

Greg Miller is a disingenuous hack

  35. Zeek Farron Gaming on November 2, 2021 at 10:44 am

    I fricking LOVE scarlet nexus
I pre ordered it on a whim after seeing some trailers and demo gameplay on YouTube. It was totally worth it.
The narrative plays out as a visual novel type format, which can take some getting used too if you’ve never really played a JRPG before. That being said, the entire main story is voice acted apart from some interactions outside of cutscenes such as with NPC’s
There’s also 2 playable versions of the story, One version you play as Yuito and events unfold from his perspective while occasionally crossing paths with Kasane, the second playable character. Her story starts off alongside Yuitos in the beginning but after about 2 hours, her path starts to differ from Yuito’s and shows you a completely different viewpoint to some of the situations Yuito must deal with.
The combat is hella good, especially as you level up and unlock longer combos and more attack abilities. Then pair that with the full party of 8 parters to pull abilities from and you turn into a power house.

Really with this game was advertised and talked about more, it’s been awhile since I’ve bought a new game and NOT regretted the purchase.

Also the anime is aight. The had the potential to really fill in some of the little details and they kind of try that but the anime will cram 4 hours of gameplay story into 20mins of anime so. Meh. It’s worth the watch because I like the characters at least

  36. Quinton Christmas on November 2, 2021 at 10:44 am

Yeah let’s take the clock to overboard and flip it let’s make a husband who just recently killed his wife and is trying to get away with murder and blame somebody else and watch the social media outrage backlash go berserk but it’s okay for a woman to kill her husband and get away with it in this day and age in society

  37. Dead Things In The Trees on November 2, 2021 at 10:44 am

None of these look any fun to play. Scarlet nexus looks intriguing but code vein left a really bad taste in my mouth for Bandai so eh.

  38. Xecter Ryan on November 2, 2021 at 10:46 am

I am playing and enjoying Scarlett Nexus. It’s a pity then that it’s not selling well.

  39. Aaron Bankster on November 2, 2021 at 10:49 am

Scarlet Nexus is meh at best. I love anime, and the Tales of series, but Scarlet Nexus ain’t it. I felt like I was playing Soul Sacrifice, but like 15 years too late.

is it just me or is bandai namco a death sentence for games these days I remember there games being good on the N64 and PS2 but recently they just feel like cash grabs for fans of a anime
